Orly- Star Spangled

Since we’re posting patriotic manis today, just one more post. Tomorrow, the USMNT plays Belgium in a friendly. Since I’m off tomorrow as well, I was really excited to have a chance try out another USA mani. I didn’t want to do anything intricate or “time-consuming” as the other mani I posted today took me about 2 hours. Plus, I was inspired by Jess’ mani and wanted to use my dotting tool. I also wanted to use this new Orly I picked up last week, with a perfectly patriotic name!!

I used:
1 coat Orly Nail Defense
1 coat ChG Ridge Filler
2 coats Orly Star Spangled
1 coat Seche Vite Top Coat

ChG White on White
WnW Saved By The Blue
2 coats Seche Vite Top Coat (to smooth out over the dots, plus the blue dots were thick.)

I’m not one prone to exaggeration so when I say that this may be the best red I’ve ever come across, I’m not lying. (Ok, I am prone to exaggeration, BUT that doesn’t change my opinion). The pictures don’t even come remotely close to doing this color justice. I literally cannot stop staring at my nails. Some if this is due to the eff ups on some of the dots, but mostly it’s because it’s SO PRETTY. It’s a perfect shimmery glitter. I’m so glad I impulse bought this color as part of the Orly 2 for $10 sale at Sally’s. Star Spangles in a red jelly with red micro glitter. The formula is thin, but is so packed with glitter that it’s fully opaque in two coats. I can even tell you that it comes off pretty easily because I had to redo my thumb. Always a desirable quality in a glitter polish. But seriously, it’s taken me an hour to write this post because I keep stopping to stare at my nails. Between UMD, Liverpool, Caps, and DCU games, plus the upcoming holiday season, this polish will be getting a lot of wear!
